Question Which to choose?

Thinking of changing my car at the end of the year, may have £12k to spend.
Needs to be new(ish).
Needs 5 doors and be roomy.
Needs to be fairly cheap to run and reliable.
Needs to be fairly quick.

Don't fancy anything French or GM, so...

Have 3 on my shortlist (so far )
Octavia vRS
Octavia TDi 130
Mondeo 2.5si

All would be about a year old at that price. I know they are all very different creatures and I would have to test drive them, but any comments?
Not sure if the Mondeo would be a depreciation nightmare, and the Octavias are like rocking horse **** round here.

Anything else to consider?

I have had a Scoob and am now on a Civic VTi, but now I fancy a little bit of comfort as well - getting old you see

Cheers

I would look very seriously at the Octavia if I were you. Visit www.briskoda.net where there are loads of ex Scooby owners. We know a good thing when we see it and having owned several Subarus before anyone pipes up !
