New Cadillac BLS - that'll be a Saab 9-3 then
I'm afraid the launch in the UK of the new Caddy is symptomatic of all that is currently wrong with GM.
The car is obviously a Saab 9-3 (same interior and switchgear) which is no bad thing (I used to own a 9-3 Aero). Why then does GM bother wasting money on repackaging it as a Cadillac?
Although I personally like Caddys in the right context (they are well suited to more laid back US driving) surely GM must realise there is an irrational and deep seated resentment of most things Yank in this so called liberal country? Add that to the slightly twee packaging of the Caddy brand which will put off European buyers and congratulations GM you have launched a car which will surely fail.

Intersting did not realise that it was based on the Saab 93 !
Quite like the look of the Caddy, but reckon its not going to be a good seller or going to retains its value well !

Its a FWD car american car trying to compete with RWD's and Quattro's. If you buy one your either have money to throw away or a bit dumb. Celebs will like it cause for some reason they all import american cars even though they crap.

GM are doing this because the Saab factory is not operating at full potential so the thought is that if they can increase production and call it a Cadillac it'll give the name a bit of bump... so why not? 2 birds and all that..
It's actually meant to be an alright car.
Cheers, Greg.
