Mitsubishi Pajero evolution 3.5 v6
Drove one of these the other day and was so disapointed. It felt really slow. Ok it's no light weight but with 280bhp it should have shifted a bit better than it did.
Anyone else driven one?
PS looks awesome BTW

Hi Mark.
I owned one for a year or so and can totally agree with you. Looks the part but as for speed, certainly isnt the "sub 6 seconds to 60" that I read about.
Its quick for what it is, and the dark tinted windows / high up look / driving position was enjoyable. However, the £200 a week fuel bill was a bit harsh.
There's a few on ebay every now and then, and many seem to be lpg now, but makes it a better, cheaper car.
I traded mine in for a Mikiv 97' tt supra, and never looked back, however ,if one came up for cheap money, I would have it and lpg the thing.
Nearly all are white / silver, only seen one red one, and 1 or 2 black ones. Tiptronic / manual. Mine was a tiptronic, and these can have change up issues, which mine was starting to have. Hence the trade in for a supra.

I think you have to remember what they are. A good 2 ton, 4x4 truck. Dont get me wrong, it would certainly steam down the fast lane, and scary off chav's in their corsas, but it wasnt an sti beater.
However, off set that with the ride height, looks, and the number of times I used to take mine off road, across roundabouts, etc etc, it was good fun.
Its just the fuel aspect. As you have to run the thing on optimax, and it does about 18 / 20mpg. I used to use mine as a works car, office / home, which was a good 110 a day. So, after a while, the fuel it would suck up was incredible if you drive like me, i.e. become bored when going under 80 mph.

i had one a few year ago (Mitsi Pajero Evo) mind you i was also pretty disapointed with the performance - at the time there was a lot of hype about it being a very quick 4x4 - and the 'EVO' added a certain aspect of it being quick but for the roads it wasn't.. however i bet off road it would be great fun (which is what it was good at!)
good thing about it was the rarity factor.....
Raf.
p.s. dont think the 22" Alloys helped much either..

Read somewhere about the " brain " in these get used to your driving style so if you potter about old granny style and don't thrash it the brain will log that info and something about having to disconnect the battery for the brain to reset ,
when looking on the evo forum they don't seem to say these are slow just very thirsty but the fun factor is worth it
