Says CatD in the advert, not very bad damage, but still on "The List" and recorded as being damaged at some time.

Cat D can mean damaged as well as stolen.
All the cats are WRITTEN off cars, whether by amount of damage or cost to repair.
Cat D normally means uneconomical to repair by ins company. Now on a £30k car that's some SERIOUS amount of damage to have it written off (which the cat abcd all are). It's not like a dented wing type damage, that's for sure.
So either that or stolen/recovered.
Former, I'd walk away, the latter I'd think about it if in the market (which I'm not)
