Default Didn't realise Saab's handled...

Was having a play with a Saab which I knew would keep up with me in the Scoob, but didn't realise they went round corners quite as well

Shame they look like a boat (says me with a blobe eye...ahem... )

I have a 9-3 and it will go round a corner reasonably well (consdering its underpinnings were once a Cavalier), wouldnt exactly call it a Scoob worryer though.

Maybe it's something to do with me needing new front tyres - was trying quite hard cos the tyres were squealing quite a lot

Its all down to driving skills......I'm sure Michael Schumacher could keep up with most of us in a Fiat Cinquecento Sporting.....

Maybe things have moved on a bit, was it a new 9-3 ?

2.6ltr jobbie..........I think you will find it was probably a 2.3 cos saab don't make a 2.6.

And if it was an 9-5 Aero- 250 bhp, Top speed: 155 mph, 0 to 60 mph: 6.5, 40 to 60 mph in fourth gear 5.0 sec, 50 to 70 mph in fifth gear 7.3 sec and thats standard, they can make almost 300 bhp for about £500

errr whatever even if they can make 300bhp for £500 he couldnt keep up with my impreza over 100mph as all acceleration was done from 90mph and over and mine is only a 2.0ltr

So what kind of Saab was it? (re. first post). Interested as my big fat 9k Aero now goes round corners pretty well but will still be leagues behind any scooby (imho). In a straight line above 30 it's very rapid though as long as the gearbox doesnt explode. (310bhp/360ftlbs)
Still, it's so subtle that I never get a chance to compare it to other cars

Haven't got a clue mate, only clue I have is that first time I went to overtake a car I caught him off guard and he started to drop off, so I'm thinking petrol, and it was nearly new

Are you mad? Of course this much power will destroy a Scoob in the dry once moving...My Scoob has 240bhp at the flywheel - what's that at the wheels? Maybe 160bhp?? 4WD you see.

I meant leagues behind in the corners vs Scoob... In a straight line I have confidence the old barge would do well.
