GOLF GT TDI 140 SUPERCHIPPED
hi
im getting my new car soon (hopefully)
i test drove a 4 door version briefly at slowish speeds, what could i expect from the golf gt tdi once its been superchipped. They seem optimistically to be claiming sub 7 secs to sixty and 180 odd bhp once chipped Is this realistic and will i miss my wrx (260bhp)

Don't know any chipped PDI 140's yet, but mate used to have a last gen PDI150 with magic black box.
It kicked out about 197BHP anf just over 300lb of torque. Jammy bas still got about mid 40's to the gallon too. Once on the move these will scare a lot of cars, the mid-range is amazing!

well the guys near my house are called
"just VW born to redline"
they say that they swear by powerchips as they do an individual remap to each cars ecu
once i get the car ill run it for a while then chip it so i can appreciate the power diff

I'm about to get my pd130 revo'd. Should see 180bhp and up to 300 lb ft.
Went in one the other day and it was shocking!!!
Be ready for mammoth torque steer though

The revo is a remap rather than an add-on chip I believe, similar to the ecutek software that allows mapping of the Subaru ECU's.
'Piggy back' chips are generally crude and do not give the optimal results as they are not tailored to your exact car.
I dread to think what it's going to be like in the wet as mine tries to break traction in 3rd as standard as it is!!!

spoke to a guy with revo
he said id get 190 bhp and a huge torque increase
however the ecu with the new golf is tricky and has a shutdown affair to stop people messing with it. he said revo have a test car that is working fine but to leave off ordering the remap until its more certain that this car can be remapped safely

I take it that the same ECU "problem" will be present in the new A3 TDi as they share the same engine??
I would go Revo or Jabba if I were in your position mate.
Cheers,
Grant

VW Cup have an agreement with superchips to use their rolling road to varify the power figures for all the cars
