Default BMW Drivers - An Apology

After a few additional months considering the driving skills of the above I feel I may have been a tad harsh. Such a sweeping generalisation about all of them being tossers was probably unwarranted. I apologise therefore to 5 and 7 series drivers who have generally not got on my **** for some time. In fact no problem with Z3 / Z4 either.

That leaves 3 series of course who remain largely tossers, being poor drivers, ignorant of lane discipline, other drivers, indication, traffic lights, speed limits etc. You are still not worthy of even cleaning my Scoob.

Thanks and good night!

'Bout time you noticed

Next you need to notice it's 316 and 318's that cause all the problems (and the occasional Coupe)

Excepting the T-pot in the 740 who does 50mph past my house twice every night (30 limit)

I am with you on that one as well! Although I am slightly bias at the moment as my girlfriend (ex) got a new 330cd Sport coupe thing last month, then we went our separate ways about 2 weeks after. Now having to sell the Scoob to buy a house. Bah BMW drivers!!

X5 pilots are undoubtedly at the top of the tree of BM tossers. They must have no insight, ounce of sensitivity or subtlety to be able to buy one. Even just looking at those hyper aggressive things on stilts is enough to make anyone's blood boil, the styling alone says "I am an ignorant vulgarian get out of my way you scummers in lesser vehicles...".

What about a 3 series driver (E36 M3!!) who used to be a Subaru driver?? (and who may soon be one again!)

Do they count??!?!

[crazy thought]

Maybe tossers are tossers regardless of what they drive.

Hit the nail on the head there.

I drive a 328 touring. Before that had 3 scoob wagons. If I was a good driver when I was in the scoob then I'm a good driver now. If a Sh*t driver then the same logic applies. Loved the scoobs but love the 328 justas much. Does'nt have the grunt but the smooth power is fantastic not to mention the comfort and quietness. Oh and I forgot that another big advantage is I don't have to use my indicators anymore. Well thats what it says in the manual

Good point well made. I'm an E46 3 series BMW driver and i'm not a tosser. I am in fact i'm a very good driver, advanced and member of the IAM (Institute of advanced motorists). Although having said all of that i am trying to sell the beema to buy a scooby, and it's not because i'm becoming a tosser. I love my BMW it's just far to sensible, feel like I should have a couple of screaming snotty kids sat on the back seat.
You want to try driving around East London for an afternoon, trust me, everyone there's a tosser!

But having a BM, its nice to be able to live up to peoples expectations and cut them up now and again!

Ive often seen people mouth "BMW w@mk£r" in my mirror...But ive always driven the same, no matter what the car.....

Thanks for solving this for me , it explains perfectly why at the wheel of my 5 series, I'm Jekyll & when driving the Impreza I'm Hyde. Or was it the other way round ?
Perhaps even more radical, once an **** always an **** ?

It was always a generalisation and of course we all have our moments. I have had no problems with X5 drivers or, for the sake of completeness, 1 series, 6 series or 8 series (have I missed any). I do think however that the car attracts a certain type (still generalising). Scooby drivers (and in fact anyone who chooses a car for the right reasons) have more of a passion about the driving experience. Too many 3 series drivers get into them because of the badge, and the perceived status, and then feel the need to make sure as many people as possible are aware of them.

In my experience there are a lot of overly aggressive wannabe M3 drivers tearing around in 316 / 318's. No doubt these are often repmobiles. That said, you do get just as many to55ers in company Vectras, Passats and.. seem to be the worst for some reason..Lagunas!

Not had a problem with X5 drivers myself. Other than when driven by dippy women on the school run (Soccer Moms, as they're known in the States!). Maybe I'm biased as my old man has an X5 and he's fairly steady!

I'm probably getting a E36 4 door M3 as my next car. Am I a tosser in waiting?

At least there's a chance that people with M3s bought them because they are great drivers cars and not just status symbols. The worst are people with 318is that are made to look like M3s!

And no-one's ever modded an Impreza 2.0 sport to look more like a turbo?

This isn't BMW specific, people do it to all makes of car. You also get crap drivers in all makes of car. I don't understand why people seem to be so anti BMW.
