Ive got the Boss's Porsche C2 Cabrio for the wknd!!
Was initially dissapointed as the n/a power delivery doesnt give you that turbo kick. But the more i drive it the better it gets. The depth of the engine's ability is very impressive.
Where the scoob runs out of puff after 90mph the Porsche just keeps on going.
The handling is superb. Great feedback from the steering. You really feel like you're driving it instead of just hanging on to the wheel and keeping your right foot planted. Nice and pointy with great turn in.
Its not as easy to go immediately fast but its more rewarding when you do build up the confidence to nail it. You can definitely feel that weight over the back wheels though and I'm always conscious of it - so i cant really push it too hard (its not the car to 'have a moment' in).
Theres no doubting that this is a faster car in a straight line and i have to say that although i can drive the scoob faster through the twisties (more to do with confidence than anything) this car is far more enjoyable (not just cause its a porsche either). This car has really demonstrated the difference between sheer mechanical grip and true handling.
Dont get me wrong I love my scoob (03WRXPPP) but I have to say that (unsurprisingly) the porsche is in a different class. (and the missus just loves posing with the hood down!).
Here's to topless german motoring!
(Oh, and other Porsche drivers are miserable b@stards that dont wave - but no real surprises there!)

But i've got to admit, when the sun is shining and the top's down, you can hear the engine and exhausts blare - it actually feels like a rawer driving experience. Personally I wouldnt go for the softtop but I've thoroughly enjoyed driving this one. Its changed my mind about:
-German Cars
-Soft tops
-The 'invincibility' of the scoob
A great weekend all in all!

Drive something pre 1990's and you get more waves than scoobs
Although air-cooled drivers won't wave at water-cooled and vica versa
Porker club GB badge in the window helps

Just get one of each.
I agree, the WRX is more "chuckable"!
The Carrera had all four tyres replaced last month, only to find a large nail in the sidewall of a rear tyre yesterday... £220 to replace - A set of four tyres for the WRX cost me £100 (original RE050, I was lucky )
