Need some Escort Cossie help please
OK. Calling RedKop et al!!
My friend is having trouble with her Escort Cossie. Its on an N plate (small turbo, later head etc).
Apparently when thrashing it on full boost at WOT, its cutting out.............I don't think it actually cuts out, but the revs drop and all power goes for a few seconds.
My first thoughts were it was overboosting and getting fuel cut but I don't know if thats what an EsCos would do.
Can anyone help here????????

Definetly seems like fuel cut. Any mods to it??
If I recall the 95 onwards cossies used the Ford EEC IV ECU rather than old cossie's Weber Marelli ECU, so make sure whoever gives advice is refering to the later ECU's as they are very different.
1 thing is they do use a 3 figure fault codes which are a lot more imformative than the webber's, so getting a fault code reader on it may help.
IIRC the plug is triangular and on the passenger side inner wing. You can connect an LED and bridge the terminals to get flash codes, but I can't remember which terminals you need to connect to on the plug.

Cheers mate.
Maybe someone else will know which terminals to bridge, but then where do I get the look up codes from?
Only mod that I can see is an induction kit (a foam one of some description).

As far as we know, it hasn't been chipped but like you say it needs looking at I think. She lives near me so Castle performance is not far, neither is Collins. Anywhere else that might be better to go to?
I told her to get an STI!!!!!!!!
