You might do better if you say which 16 or 20V you are talking about- I would guess you mean the Fiat Coupe Turbo.

If that's the case then there is a large difference- the 20V is appreciably faster.

In performance terms I believe so - the 20V turbo blows the 16v into next week (based on Fiat coupe 20v v 16v turbo's)

16v is the good-ol Fiat twin cam; so easy to mod. The coupe engine is nearly identical to the one used in the Lancia Integrale 16v, so tuning strategies much the same and pretty reliable. A good few years back when I had a 16v they were much easier to tune than the 20v, but I'm guessing that now the 20v has been out for some time there must be loads of options now.

Test driving the 16v T against the 20v T they do seem very different and in fact from 0-60 the 16v *feels* quicker. Much like the difference between driving a MY95 Scoob and a MY99. Because the boost characteristics of the 16v is much more in your face, it actually feels quicker. However, I;m sure a modded 20v will have the same big boost feeling.

Overall I think the 20v has got to be the one to go for since it's newer, has much better brakes (4 pot brembos vs. 2 pot crap) and is easy to tune to 280bhp+. But don't dissmiss the 16v on performance, because in stock form they ain't that much slower and you can tune them to easily.
