Durr !
My dads boss wrecked his brand new XJR (one of the first ones) in a spectacular manner, booted it from the lights showing off to a passenger, bounced it off the armco and it ended on its roof, three days after he got it. Its replacement lasted a full month before ending up on its roof !, he ended up with a Xantia Diesel (non Turbo) as pennance.

Excellent
Totally the wrong driving style and driver for the car.
To try drive a jag properly you need to be over 60, smoking a cigar, wearing a golfing jersey, and have had 6 large whiskies at the 19th hole.
Shame to see such a nice car, smashed, bet its rebodied and in some showroom by now

What did Sutcliffe say? (and why was he trying to hold the roof of the car up? )
He was going too fast, but even 10mph less may have been enough to have as much grip as is necessary.
Remember, he's a F1 driver, he can do FAR more with a car than any of us can but even F1 drivers make mistakes from time to time.

It was Pizzonia and Steve Sutcliffe.
I was talking to Steve the week after he got back about this. He says something along the line of "we are not going to make it".... he said he was watching the speedo (if you look at the shot from in car) and he was over 60mph too fast for the corner !!
Also what you dont see there is acually a camera man in the back of the car... who was hurt a bit - i believe he is ok now.
This happened just before Pizonias 1st GP so you can see what it has been delayed in comming out !

I think Sutcliffe's comments were along the lines of "No way, we're off........are you alright mate?" He was fine except his hat fell off.
Car looked pretty strong.
I can't believe they weren't wearing helmets.
