The question is really can you afford to maintian it to the proper standard. Are you gonna put a lot of miles on it or is it a second/weekend car
Not sure how much services are on the 355 or associated parts like exhausts, brake pads, etc which it will be 'hard' on.
Things to weigh up;
how many miles are you going to do in it P.A if say 3-8K then it is maybe a more realistic proposition than 20-30K
Insurance costs
Will it fit in the garage (they are wiiiiiiide)
servicing, how many per annum and how much
Tyres, etc
It seems like a cheap car, is it LHD, if so how comfortable are you with this on RHD roads.
Is 2 seats an issues
Is it due a service, if major could be the best part of a grand or so, also goes for tyres are they worn?
It MUST have a FFSH if not walk away from it, no run!
How many owners, if a few ask yourself Y
They are great cars but can be money pits, OK if you can afford it.

A general rule of thumb with a 355 is £1 per mile in service & maintainence costs. They are very expensive & also if you don't keep up the proper service history it really affects the resale big time.

t888,how did it feel in terms of performance compared to the STi7?
I'm dreaming about chopping in my STi7 for one aswell.Major running costs and being car jacked putting me off a little!

My Dad has one - git - but he deserves it, has worked hard. Anyway, I've driven it and up to about 60 my old 313bhp Type R would have had it, after that, not a chance, especially after the tonne as they have great aerodynamics and just keep on accelerating. It is then that it feels so much quicker than any other fast car, and like a supercar in fact
In every other way, they bear no comparison with a scoob - they are utterly fabulous cars - if you can afford to run it and enjoy it, then do so.
