Not wanting to respond in that post... in fear of my reply getting lost...

.... I loved them ... I thought they were the best thing since sliced bread... they were my dream car.... nothing wrong with Calibras... except they were made by Vauxhall but hey... I've had several... Vauxhall's that is.... the very under rated car company... quick like the look of the Astra Convertible... it rocks... 0-60 in 7.2 secs.... not bad...

I wanted a Calibra desperately.... then discovered.....my first Scoob... but I would find no fault with the Calibra... ever... like the Ford Probe...

Tell me why do car manufacturers get scared when they realise they're 50% there and onto a winner... let's thank gawd that Subara put their money where there mouth is....

Each to their own, as with all cars mate.

Maybe the 50% missing was basing the Calibra on a mid 80s Cav?

In your humble opinion.

I disagree.

Cavalier Convertable? Not quite as bad a my ex neighbours Nova Convertable to look at.

Like I said - each to their own.

It's quite hard to make a convertible look bad-they managed it with the Cavalier.I thought they were D.I.Y jobs until this thread.

There's still a few knocking about.

Not particularly easy on the eye!

The standard 1.4 hatch looks 'classier'

Hey... you guys are looking for trouble... it was a good car... remember we're going back a few years... we sold it 3 years ago for 2k... it did us proud... you can't knock it.. it was the beginning of what might have been a really good idea... you have to give credit to where it's due...

Saw a cavalier convertable a while back. I was like why would someone spend the money to do that. Then i looked again and thought, nope, that looks factory. looked like poo on a plate.

Harry Enfield has a cavalier cab...... fittinly enough..

The griffin must die!!

Opel Kadette(2.?) and the Lotus carlton are the only good cars ever to come out of that company

Hey mate no worries - just having a laff as they say.

Reminds me of an ex girlfriend who on discussing a film with her friend came out with the following gem:-

"It's either a film you simply adore or absolutely hate - I quite liked it"

Ehhhh!!!

Sorry - gone way off topic,

tiggers.
