go for the 4x4 turbo one.

cheap as chips to buy - and you can easily tune.

not worth buying the slowish 2.0 16v to tune it when its done.

(not saying they are good cars - and I wouldn't have one - but I did have the cavalier Turbo 4x4 and I'd have another - but not the calibra)

You get 2 different types of 2 litre 16V engine.

Up to about '94 you get the 150bhp version. Engine code C20XE. After that the 136bhp 'ecotec' is used. Engine code X20XEV.

You can tell them apart by the shape of the spark plug cover. The C20XE is L shaped. The X20XEV has a straight one.

You will get loads more info if you post on MIGweb...

i would say the 16v calira would probably get you to 60 ish in about 7-8 secs the closer to 7 if the car has had a lot of work done to it, but they are great top end well my turbo was id expect around 150 ish top end

Hi

I used to have a 95 ecotec 16V 2.0 Calibra, nice looking car, no rust, leather interior, fsh, but loads of problems, lots of little rattles aswell, if you mate wants one, go for a 94/95 but not the ecotec as 136BHP and the early ones of those had alot of problems, same engine in the vectra, and we all know how reliable the first ones of those are!!!

Or if it is the ecotec one he/she wants, then get a good 97/98 model, with full history etc.

ps

0-60 in the ecotec is about 9sec and 8 for the older model, 7.3 for the V6 and 6.5 for the Turbo.

pps

done loads of research before i got mine.
