Unhappy

Even though I don't own a Scoobs anymore I still like to come on here and join the banter. Thought I would let peeps know round my area that nothing is safe...

Saturday night between 7-10pm, my E36 M3 parked outside house on the road. Plenty streetlights and a busy road and some sh*ts have nicked my wing mirrors. Totally useless to whoever has them as they left the backing plates.

WTF is this country coming to where scum starts stealing items off of others cars. Just been ringing round for prices and all i can say is it would probably have been cheaper if they had keyed the whole car!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway rant over, if anyone knows of any M3 mirror heads going cheap then I'll have them....

Ian

Ian,

Ive had mine done about a year ago, and in the efforts to get the backing plates they nicely fcuked by door and pillar, I park in in fear everywhere now! BMW replaced them trough insurance and I had a mechanic friend have a look and he has managed to clamp the things in place - dont know how he did it but Id like to see someone steal them as easy now!

Heres a link to a guy selling what you need, not sure if they are still there though.

Scooby-Jawa - yeah tell me about it, suspicious of everyone at the mo!!!

TomM - read some of you're previous posts and had me laughing my ar*e off. I was gonna get them done through insurance but as I'm 21 my excess is the same as my premium-£1500...OUCH. Thanks for the link, will check it now.#

M3 at 21!! - ha, I bet your insurance is nice and cheap!!

Christ I got mine just before my 24th birthday and Iam still getting proper shagged on the insurance!

At reknewal :

Mr Merriott,

Please find enclosed your reknewal details for the next year of Motor Insurance with *miral ()

Please report to the head offcie reception where all of the company can take it in turns to roger you senseless whilst on thier way out to lunch, this way we avoid and confusion over the fact that we are shafting you - one way or the other.

I would also like to add that should you need to make a claim you should allow at least 20 years for it to be resolved, your excees will be returned upon introduction of the Euro to the UK.

I hope you are still satisfied with our level of service, we aim to be polite but dim at all times.

Wondering why your with us,

Mrs C Rapinsurance.

OEM E36 M3 mirrors are notorious for this - imagine designing mirrors that slide off by design!

Get yourself some Hagus ones or even a set of AC Schnitzer Sport mirrors. They are both permanently fixed and suit the style of the car nicely while retaining electric/heated type features.

Iam confused - have you managed to get some then?

No way would BMW quote £160 for painted replacements, mine were nearer the price of a small pedigree dog!!!

Good advice about the ACS mirrors although Iam a bit of a purist and I thikn the other mirrors make the car look like a tarted up 320 or something - just a picky git when it comes to my car.

Iam tearing round in a poxy Fiesta at the moment, my M3 is getting the clutch and ACS short shift fitted - no fun for me when I get that back then!!!

Oh and Ian, I wouldnt worry about living at home at 21 matey, the average age for moving out of your parents is 26 these days!!

I would still live thier now if they didnt make me want to drink paint.

lol@TomM

No not yet just thought I'd see what money my dads mate wants for painting.

If you see a young whipper snapper in Berkshire tonight with a balaclava then beep and say hi.......lol

I work in Slough, I see at least 20 young whippersnappers wearing balaclavas before I even get to the car!

Just watch out for a 318is with a gay DTM exhaust and tacky wheels with your mirrors selotaped on!, then extend your arm and slap the idiot!!

If I come accross some in my travels over BMW internet land I shall let you know mate, thing is when a set do come up they sell in about 8 seconds to another 318is owner!
