Thieving Scum
#1
Some thieving scumbag has nicked my STI fog light blanking plates!
Doesn't it make you mad when you find bits missing off your car.
I now have two big holes in the lower bumper, nice :-{
I haven't parked in any dodgy areas recently. Just work and home and the car park at work has camera surveilance.
So they must have been taken at night while the car was on the drive.
The small mounting pillar needed to fix them in place of the fog lights was taken as well.
So this leads me to believe whoever took them knows how they fit and so wants them for their own scoob.
Description fog blanking plates Royal Silver (MY99) with pink STI lettering.
If anybody sees another silver scoob that suddenly sports new (slightly stonechipped) STI fog blanking plates let me know.
I don't think it would be easy (or cheap) to find replacements for these!

Where are you from mate?
E-mail me if you want a price for some painted or unpainted, we can even put the STi lettering back on them for you.
cheers Andy

Andy,
Thanks for the offer of assistance.
Do you manufacture them ?
Are they identical size/shape as the orignals ?
I wouldn't mind a price for some painted Royal Silver (1999) I'll get the exact Subaru paint code later.
I'm not too bothered about the pink lettering.
I'm still pissed off that somebody steals bits off a fellow scooby owner's car! (probably doesn't wave at other scoob's either!)
Only an assumption! Suppose they could be on some spotty yoof's wall as a souvenir, but then they could use Blu Tack and wouldn't need the mounting pillars!

CJ,
I live in Surrey too and drive a silver MY99 STi. Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a silver Impreza in need of fog lamp covers but if I see 'em I'll do me best to stop 'em and ask them why they have Sti covers on their UK car
So don't be thinking it was me Mine belong where they are! Thieving gits

Cheers Kev,
Do yourself a favour and change the holiding screws to some of those secure star shaped ones (Torx).
Probably best to put some loctite on the threads while your at it, I wish I had!

Sorry to hear about the loss CJ. I live jut round the corner from you so I'll keep my eyes peeled as well. I'm now just a little worried about somebody trying to thieve something from mine!

Ok concerned scooby owners, here's an update...
I checked with company security today and guess what...
They have only gone and got video footage of somebody pulling up in front of my car, opening their boot (hatchback) grabbing whatever tools and crouching in front of my car to do the dastardly deed!
The said footage is now with the police for analysis and I just can't wait for a positive outcome from this!
I maybe way too positive but I will be really disapointed with the law enforcement agencies if they can't apprehend some out and out crook for theft when given video footage with a clear car reg.
I may not recover the value of the bits taken (don't care anymore)but I confer with some of my colleagues in the belief that someone has stolen these for profit and has probably got a hatchback full of stolen car bits (thieving scum!)
I hope they get well and truly shafted for their crimes.
Everyone else, please take care of their possesions. This moron took parts off my car in daylight from a company car park under 24hr camera surveilance.
May justice prevail.

I can't see them fitting anything other than another Scoob. Even if they did, the styling is such that the bar in the middle is a continuation of the one on the bumper between the indicator and 'orange wedge'. Wouldn't like to think that the thief is a fellow Scooby owner

Ok while were on the subject,
Now I've got gaping holes in my front bumper I've decide to fit some really bright fog lights and drive around with them permanently switched on like the ****'s (yes I used the C word) in every fourth car coming towards me down here in Surrey, (predominantly BMW's & Volvos).
I know the standard lights on a 99 Impreza are weak but the road in front of my car just disappears when faced with a Beamer (too true) with HID headlights AND fog lights ablaze!
