Default Hello from a noob

Hello,

I dont have a Subaru but I'm keen to get my hands on 1 sometime soon. We currently have a 2003 Mini Cooper S and a 1995 BMW 320i coupe. Both great cars, but we have 2 dogs and a load of camping gear so i'm hoping to get my hands on a Subaru estate to replace either the Mini or Beemer. I'd like a standard Uk model in order to keep the insurance down a bit, although i'd be very tempted to stick a backbox on it to unleash the rumble

From a practical point of view, I'd like a Forester Turbo, but on a limited budget of around £3-4k.

From a 'boy racer in me is trying to get out' point of view, i'd like an impreza wagon Turbo

I wouldn't say no to a Legacy estate either though.

If it came down to it, i'd chop the Mini in as I reckon that's got to be worth at least £5k as a trade in.

We've been for a nosey round some garages in the area today but didn't find anything. There is a chap local to here who's selling, what looks like a tidy, UK Forester S Turbo. It's a 2001 with 89k miles on the clock for just under £3k. Might go for a nosey....

I'd be very grateful of any pointers. Does anyone know of any good independant dealers or traders to check out?

Cheers,

Mark

I'm in Warrington. We had a quick nosey in Car Planet earlier but they haven't got much in at the moment.. They do have some in the 'Arriving soon' section of the site though.

cheers for the link... I spotted this the other day when i did some searching. I do like the look of it but it's a bit pimp'd for my liking really. I'd like something a little more standard looking.

That said, it'd definitely turn heads!

I wouldn't mind spending that kind of money and part-ex'ing or selling the Mini if i thought insurance wouldn't be too bad and for the right car. I've only tried Go compare so far and it'd be about £800 for an 2001 Impreza WRX Wagon and around £700 for a Forester S Turbo, both UK models with no mods

Try a specialist broker for insurance such as A-Plan , Keith Michaels or Adrian Flux, you might be surprised how much they could save you.
Welcome to Scoobynet.

Will do, thanks I'm already with Adrian Flux with the mini as i used to have a modified Beemer and stuck with them when i swapped to the Mini a couple of years ago. Would definitely be worth a phonecall anyway

Cheers for the Welcomes too
