noob ecu question
hi guys - please forgive me if this question's been answered before as I'm a noob!
I'm buying an impreza soon (thought it was about time as I've waited until I'm 35!!) but I have a question regarding ecu's - I've done as much research as I can into the different models but my query boils down to this - is it possible to swap out the ecu from a 96wrx into a 96uk turbo 2000 and expect the same performance? would I get the gains? would I have to remap? the model I buy is dependant on the answer I get!!

A post Sept 94 WRX ECU (Labeled Z4) will go straight into a UK car. This will improve performace with a smoother drive and boost increased from 11.47psi to 12.7psi.
This ECU is what Prodrive based the 250BHP Prodrive UK upgrade on. Although Prodrive ran it at 13.64psi peak.
My old UK ran 255BHP with the Prodrive ECU, ITG Filter and Stainless rear box.
Putting a ScoobyECU or uprated chip into the spare socket on the UK ECU would be a better upgrade. These can run upto 16-16.5psi.

thanks for the response - I suppose my next question is what's the difference in power between the two? what standard bhp does the UK have and what's the standard bhp on the wrx? I've had different comparisons from various websites, some claim 205 to 215 for the uk and 250 to 280 for the wrx? anyone out there know for certain?
