...as there was a car joining the road, it wouldn't have been a derestricted zone.

I suspect as it was a junction it would have been a 100kmh zone, so yes he was probably speeding, same as the M3 and M6 his sons were in. But who knows what will happen.

Lots of autobahns have speed restrictions, and like Wurzel said this was an area around a junction so wouldn't be unrestricted.

Car totalled, head lamp stil intact and working as does the indicator, must be an illusion

Lucky boys to survive that, had it been a bridge pillar it wouldn't have ended as well as it did in a nice soft ditch.

I'm impressed the roof held up like it did. Maybe just lucky or is it the build quality?

Work colleague one time employer rolled his roller on the motorway with dog inside I think the dog survived also but there was **** everywhere.

Driving at that sort of speed on a public road in such a fashion is a criminal act in my opinion!

That impressed me too. The pillars are reinforced with boron steel. Great if you're in the car but a real pain in the **** for the Fire brigade/motorsport Rescue fraternity.
