For both the main beam and high beam bulbs on one side to blow at the same time as I don't want to buy two new bulbs to find its a fuse or something else.

The main and dip beam filaments are usually in the same bulb, if the main goes it usually takes the dip with it.

Thanks for that mate and don't want to sound too stupid but its a bugeye and the dip beam is at the bottom and full beam is a separate bulb at the top. As said I don't want to buy two bulbs if not needed. Just seems strange that they would go at the same time.

Only way to know without replacing both bulbs is to borrow a meter to see is there are volts available to each lamp terminal. Certainly unusual for both bulbs to fail at once, but nothing is impossible of course.

Thanks Les I'll see if I can get hold of one. It's not that I'm tight not wanting to buy the bulbs but if you try to drive through Grantham now to get to Halfords and then it doesn't work you'd be a bit hacked off.

Swap the bulbs from the other side , and vise versa. It'll prove whether its bulbs or something else. Also if its the bulbs you will want to buy in pairs anyway so the other side will be comming out anyway.

Or remove the bulbs and put a meter across each, set to Ohms. You should get a small reading for each.

Scoob lights do tend to be fused right, left, rather than main, dip.
