Default Lloyds TSB to Bank of Scotland mix up

We have our business banking with Lloyds TSB Scotland. Our relationship manager was talking about a transition to Bank of Scotland which would be rolled out with all the necessary information provided in advance.

What has actually happened is that through the Christmas and New Year post we have received an assortment of Bank of Scotland cheque books, pin numbers and cards with new sort codes and account numbers, we can't access online banking, no relationship manager is available that understands what is going on (practice manager got one who said this seems to have been happening to others - no prior notification and an unseemly change). We do not know what has happened to our direct debits, standing orders, credits, wages. For a business this is a disaster.

I don't suppose anyone here knows what is going on since we can't find anyone at the bank (which one?) that knows either?

These idiots have really got no idea how to run a business in the real world.

I haven't got a solution for you but no doubt it will be 'computer error'.

We managed to find out that the old accounts are still operational until 21 Jan, but the new cards we got said destroy the old ones, so we did. However, the new cards don't work until 21 Jan, we have to notify all the people that pay us of new details. Supposedly the standing orders, staff wages and direct debits will transfer across. We need to go through lots of re-authentication for online and telephone access. It seems that the stuff we received through the post was about stage 4 of the process, and we've not had the promised stages 1-3 to give us time to transition.

Worst of all, this **** up will probably take us a few days of staff time to sort out when we're already short of appointments. All because someone thinks some banks should be split up because they are too big. No one has thought about the impact on businesses on the ground dealing with the fallout. Despite all their promises, I would not trust a bank to transfer even my personal account without huge headaches which is far less complex than our business accounts.

Changeover was supposed to happen yesterday, but hasn't! Now they are talking about doing it on 30th when we're receiving income and trying to pay staff. Practice manager off sick. It is a complete farce.

Sounds like they need a proper manager, not a practice one.

LOL. That is my practice manager who was trying to round up all the new arrangements, but other than her being sick all the **** ups have been due to the bank.

It depends which branch you are with..

LLoyds have been instructed to dispose of a certain number of branches. The ones being disposed off are to be renamed Bank of Scotland, then sold to the Co-op : My branch is one of these - got my letter last month

Accounts have been transferred and chaos has ensued. Still no online access. A variety of PIN numbers have been sent and have now locked the card. I have to go to the nearest branch which is 15 miles away to sort it out. I don't finish until 6pm. This is not working well.
