Halfrauds
Our eldest daughter purchased a pioneer head unit from halfrauds Christmas Eve
I've gone to fit it tonight and its clearly been used , it was purchased as new ( not a refurb )
( should have opened the box )
Now it's not keeping memory , I've double checked her wiring ign live / permanent live and was all good ( ill double check tomorrow )
Now I'm fuming because if I didn't fit it they would still say its been fitted
And if it does turn out to be faulty I can see them saying its the fitting or some bull
Any suggestions

They will replace it, there should be no issue here - if we were talking about Currys then you would be in **** ..........
Simply state that you are REJECTING the item and demand a replacement - or your money back (you do not want a repair, it's too new, to you anyway).
If they argue, get them to send you an e-mail outlining the reason for non refunding (or get them to write and sign the reasons in store).
You then get them to acknowledge that you have given them ample opportunity to replace, they have refused. You clearly state that legal action will be taken and the costs involved will form part of your claim.
I have been where you are on more than a few times ..... if you are assertive you will ALWAYS win.
Then, sue through the County Courts .... it's simple, friendly, and the Clerks/Judges HATE these big Companies. Halfords will NOT go to Court .... not worth losing, as they will.
Whatever way you look at it - you WILL get your way ...... be firm and assert your rights.

Some of the pioneer units Tony require a seperate live 12v feed to be used, not the one from the car loom, have had a couple like that before, just to double check it is the radio perhaps put both yellow and red together and see If it holds memory when turned off ( would have to do it manually on power button ), if it does the problem most probably lies with the car loom its self or the external live feed if it has one for the specific model she bought, just a thought as I know how cocky some of the hellfraud guys can be when they find a prob and they use the most basic ways hence why I say maybe try the wires together first
But if it was not new anyway then it would be going back regardless bought new, want new!

All Vauxhalls from That Era (you said Corsa B?) need the yellow and red wires on the stereos loom swapping around. All car wiring plugs SHOULD be ISO standard but for some reason Vaux / Opel swapped the two live feeds around on their car looms. This is the reason most stereo looms have bullet connectors in them allowing you to connect red to yellow and yellow to red so it will work in a vaux.

Update , went down explained and said can you have a look at this , so a guy came out and looked fiddled about and said the mc button not selecting proper either , I never really got that far ( so that turned out to my advantage anyway)
Then I said that's been used or fitted before anyway , he replied when did you buy it , I said Christmas Eve he said i,ll go and ask , came back , surprise surprise the person who sorted it wasn't there , but he said we'll exchange it anyway
Couldn't be ar**d to get into an argument so got the new unit , fitted it and its now all good
So in future if ( I doubt it ) I buy or anyone buys owt from halfrauds , open the box and check it well
