Default What a bargain!!!

Yep, I've just seen this as well.
It includes the plug in laser detector which specs it exactly the same as the new age version. Don't forget its only the classic version that you can get life time updates for £99, so this is an unbeatable deal. Only downside is, the deal is for today only (Boxing day), so you better be quick!!!

Just got mine. Went to the store nearest me in Hamilton, they'd sold out. They phoned 2 other branches and the second one reported they had 2 left, but they went and checked and only had 1, so they reserved it for me.

The rest of their "sale" was pretty ****. JVC headunits at half price, but their prices to begin with were double, or damn near double, that of other online retailers. The top end ones weren't discounted too.

Okay. with a little hunting around, it appears you can still order from the website using the following link.

Let me know if anyone orders it, or more importantly, receives it .

For anyone who tryed to get 1 but they were sold out,you should have paid for it today, then waited till they got some in to pick it up,and using the laser plug in on the classic road angle does not make it the same spec as the new road angle, the classic still will not pick up watchman or speedcurb cameras, and still misses out on a lot of the features.

My local store refused to let me order one at the reduced price. They were adamant that I could not order one at the reduced price, and that the only ones being sold at the cheaper price were those in stock today.

Sorry to go " off topic " slightly here, but I've been using a classic road angel for a few months now, and am having the occasional problem with it. Every now and again, it seems to randomly throw out speeds that don't bear any relation to what I happen to be doing. Any one else get this?

They're on about banning the actual detectors, not the ones that run from the GPS maps.

Not sure on how it would affect the Road Angel...

In any case, I'd continue to use it if it were outlawed .

In the case of the classic, no problem just leave the radar detector at home. Not sure about the 'new', I know you can switch off the radar detector but it would still be there. Maybe RA would release a firmware update to disable it?

Talking

I saw the advert and rang up asking to reserve one /pay by card over the phone but as tradional sales prevention (must be ex currys/dixons workers)

they coulnt so drove down beating a few M3/Clio cups via the twistys i managed to get the last one #

the guy told me they only had 4 and 2 of the staff had bought them at that price !!!#

so i guess there will be a lot of dissapointed buyers today .

Not true, only laser detectors may be banned. At least on the road angel you can disconnect it, this leaves you with the GPS unit which will be perfectly legal.

Got a chance to use mine last night. Fantastically easy to use.

I was thumbing through the manual and it says it outputs standard GPS data for use in mapping software on PCs/PDAs. Anyone know how that works?

I imagine it's via the USB, but it's too wet to go running out to get it out the car, and I don't think I have any mapping software anyway.
