Default Trolley Jack Recommendation

I welcome the recommendations of the great and good of the 'net. I'm looking for a trolley jack, doesn't have to be transportable as such, Ill be working out of the garage, just looking for a trolley jack that compares to the Arcan effort that was selling back along at Costco. I have £100 to spend ( thanks Gran!) and was looking at this one...

Let me know.

Tried machine mart?
I picked this up for £90,
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/pr...-jack-ctj2001g
works great. It's not low entry but i don't mind driving up onto a block of wood to get a bit of clearance.

I bought a Halford's one a long time ago and it was a bargain at the price and has never let me down.

I bought mine recently from Eurocarparts. I needed a low profile one and I don't think Halfords do one. The advantage being that I could just drive down there and pick it up rather than having to order it for delivery. It cost about £68

Yeah the Halfords ones are actually pretty good.

2 tonne for £39
2.25 tonne for £60
3 tonne for £100

They will be even cheaper with a trade card too.

I bought one years ago from Motor World, dunno if they still have any shops around, ours in town closed many years ago. It cost me £30 with 2 axle stands and it does get used regularly. Best tool value for money wise I ever bought.

As it happens, I have a trade card. I'll have a look at the 3T one next time I'm round Halfords.

Thanks all, a bit of food for thought there.

OK, well I popped to the local Halfords to peruse their trolley jack range. I now have this one:-

Was £100, with a trade card £80. My Gran will be happy!

Id buy the steel Arcan jack from Costco. The alloy jack is pretty and its back in stock, but they arent particularly durable and the steel jack lifts far more, from just as low and it costs far less!

No one needs an alminium jack either, if you think about it... 'Racing' my **** - the jack stays in the garage.

See post 14. I bought the 3T halfords jack with a trade discount. I'll report back on how I find it.

Bit late, but, why do you need a 3T one , Myles?

Oh, and there's a Costco near the MetroCentre.

I thought, perhaps wrongly, that I should go for the biggest brute available. I have friends with big 4x4 things also, and I couldnt rule out having one myself.

I was thinking the same

I can't see me ever getting anything that's 3T so I bought the 2T jack ages ago.

As you say, if there's a need, you will be glad you have it.
