I love this comment:

"It doesn't matter how many empty Fosters cans they bolt together, it will never exceed the speed of sound !!"

Been following Bloodhound for sometime and all credit to them they do link to the other challengers including in the Aussie bid.

But the other cars aren't in the same league as Bloodhound. Looking at all the websites there is so much more engineering going on with Bloodhound (either that or the other challengers are deliberately not putting up data). This makes the others seem a far off dream. Would be good to see some others take up the challenges, but it's going to take a bit of work to catch up with Bloodhound

It will travel at three times the force of gravity and faster than the speed of sound.
Three times the force of gravity? As a measure of travelling?

Accelerate maybe? Sloppy journalism you gotta be thinking...

One of the cool things about Bloodhound's project is that ALL of it is shared. They are breaking open brand new territories of aerodynamics and there is no IP, no patents, no secrets - it's just all there for all to learn from, even the rival bids. The reason? Because they bill it as an 'engineering adventure'. And that's pretty cool. We need more engineering adventures to stimulate interest in STEM subjects else we'll become just another also-ran in a world of service industried former indistrial revolutionaries...

Those journalists really ought to make sure they understand what they are actually saying!

It might even be able to produce a 3G horizontal acceleration but trying to impress us all requires accurate reporting.
