Default A maths question for you to work out for me please.

Need to find answer to this please.

My pension is invested into 3 different funds in the following ratio's

Fund 1 makes up 54% of my pension and charges 0.23% a year running costs

Fund 2 makes up 40% of my pension and charges 1.08% a year running costs

Fund 3 makes up 6% of my pension and charges 0.43% a year running costs

What then is my running costs in total for my pension a year?

Thanks.

you need to know the pound note value of each percentage ie
54% = £??????
40% = £??????
6% = £?????
then you will know what each percentage charge equalls in pound notes

I cant give pound note values as it will vary each month depending on how much i put in my pension and how well it performs.

I just wanted a % running cost of the total 100% of the pension as each varying part has differing charges

(54% of 0.23%) + (40% of 1.08%) + (6% of 0.43%)

= (0.23 x 0.54) + (1.08 x 0.40) + (0.43 x 0.06)

=0.582%

I may well be wrong.

Just done it myself this way-said the total figure was a theoretical £100 so worked out what 0.23% of £54 was, then 1.08% of £40 and then 0.43% of £6 then just added them together to get 0.5758%.

Is that right?

Fund 1 (cost of total) = (54/100)*0.23% = 0.1242

And so on for the other 2 funds and then add them together.
