Default Taxing a car at the Post Office...WHY?

WHY can't those idiots access the insurance database?

And they wonder why they are losing money.

Same here

Doing it online is surprisingly easy, the only problem is that they charge for a credit card so have to use a bank card instead.

The PO can check for MOT, just not insurance

I think he meant the P.O can't check the insurance?
I'm one of those idiots who uses a pre pay pump and then goes inside, the reason is some cards just don't work at the pump, and mine is one of them!

Natwest visa debit card, used to be able to use it anywhere until a couple of months ago, then they changed it so I can only use Natwests own machines for cash, and cannot use automated systems like fuel pumps, have to go inside?

Don't know why have asked the bank until I'm blue in the face, just get told its their new policy?

Right pain in the ****, but can't be arsed with the hassle of changing banks

I have a natwest visa debit card and it works fine for me; maybe yours is faulty?

I am also one of the people who goes inside to pay, simply because I want a reciept. I've tried to get reciepts from the 'pay at pump' but it always says reciept unavailable..

I dropped a clanger once with the bike, and need to tax it at the PO

I had my insurance cert and V5 stub (new purchase) with me but no MOT cert.

Phoned up and they said no probs it will be checked online...

when i got there , it was the resident Jobsworth on the counter...

I gave him the paperwork, and he said there was no MOT cert..... i explained that i had called etc.....

He flatly refused to go any further, as i hadnt given him a valid mot....

I told him i had phoned and explained, and eventually he ran the details through....... lo and behold it came uop as insured and MOT'd!!!!

Even when he was giving me my tax disk, he was still going on about having the bit of paper....

I felt like grabbing a bit of A4 and writing " XXX XXX MOT valid" on it and giving to him, for what an mot cert is worth these days lol.

I'm sure the last couple of times I have had the car MOT'd I havn't been given a certificate as such..........just a bit of paper like an invoice.

The technician went to his office and presumably entered me on the DOT list of cars with a MOT.

A lot less on the mainland. any monkey with a spanner can give you an MOT. Try getting one in Northern Ireland. Pack of **** ******* over here. Run by the Driver and Vehicle Testing Agency, an executive agency of the Department of the Environment. Power crazed government gobsh1tes who think they know everything about cars.

No headlamp washers for your HID headlights. that's a fail sir. My Evo didn't come factory fitted with headlamps washers. Not my problem sir. it's still a fail. **** me pink.
