Let them Rest in Peace
The House of Lords. It seems to work very well to me keeping a wary eye on new laws and injecting experience and common sense into the discussions.
When I was young and principled I would have supported a fully elected chamber but I think it does need a few ex-captains of industry who know what the real world is like.
And I can't get my head around what happens if a fully elected chamber clashes with the Commons? At the moment the Commons can use the Parliament Act and overrule the Lords which seems fair enough.
But I think there are too many so I would sling out those that hardly ever attend and bring the number down to say 400 - 500 hundred.
Any Lords on here?

I think it has always worked perfectly well as it is.
Its just a load of Lib Dems and their mates trying to make a name for themselves because no one will take any notice of them!
