Default Difficult question for Peugeot customer service!!

Daughter has recently got an oldish 306 diesel. She is doing long trip and asked me what tyre pressures should she have. I said it should be in handbook and/or on door pillar but apparently not. So I said I'll check on net and get back to her.

Impossible to find on net so I phoned up a main dealer this morning. Wasn't sure but guessed around 33 psi all round. Thought I'd double check with Peugeot customer services. I was staggered when they said they didn't know!! Suggested I phoned a dealer.

Now car was serviced before she bought it and current pressure is around 40 psi which I am sure is too much but how the hell do I find out. I thought life was simple

So if anyone knows? 2001 306 5 door hatch 1.8 diesel btw

33 sounds about right, given the model assuming it is on std. rims/sizes. 40 sounds too high and will prematurely wear the centres of the tyres andcan make the handling skittish.

Thanks - I tend to agree with you. Still waiting to hear from dealer who "promised to phone back" - yeah right

Main dealers.........

My daughter brought a new MG ZR. I thought the ride was a bit harsh, noticable even when pottering along.
Checked the tyre pressures & they where 50psi.
Apparently this is how they leave the factory for transportation.

They missed a potentialy dangerous situation on the pre-delivery inspection.

There are some funny tyre settings out there, I usually use 32/33 all round and it has worked well for many years, but I recently purchased an VX insignia and reading the forums about this car the tyre pressures range from 32 right up to 39/40 depending on the comfort setting you would like.

I'm not going to let Peugeot off the hook though
