Turned down for a permanent job because it pays £15K p/a less than my last contract role! Their reason is that they think I'll jump ship as soon as the contract market picks up...

I'd rather earn something than eat away at my savings.

At least you can turn down jobs. Lots of people don't even get the chance to do that.

To be honest mate, having just been through the ball ache of recruiting I can completely understand their attitude. Not fair but it's cost be about two weeks to get the roles sorted, interview, offer reject etc and then I'm looking at about £4000 each before they are up to speed .. plus any courses they attend.

Sounds like you're a bit above that role money wise.
