I am lucky I guess but I worked bloody hard to get this job, took risks and appreciate what I have.

If you work a bank holiday, your legally entitled to a day in lieu. I tend to work all the bank holidays through the year and get 8 days added on to my holiday entitlement. (Minus boxing day, sod working that
)

Me, I got dirty at your house taking your brakes apart
(statutory recognised bank holiday day for me so had to take the day off [apprentice thing] and just get normal pay).

Loads of money for working Sunday night into the Monday morning, then a day off in Liue for today as it's a booked free da, which I will be taking on Thursday, booked off tomorrow as well so happy days.
If I do work a bank holiday, I get a weeks pay for it.

Same here. I was supposed to be in today, but I gave it away, because I really wanted the long weekend. Three day week for me, then I'm off next week.

Everyone gets that by law nowadays in the UK
minimum holiday entitlement is now 28 days which now includes all 8 bank holidays, it is so your employer can make you work a bank holiday, no longer classed as a day in lieu
Im self employed so no work no income etc

Where was that? Shops around here (well a lot of them) were open, just not normal hours.

We normally get both Mon and Tue anyway for this bank hol. We got Wed as an addition this year. Most have taken Thu and Fri off to get the full week. Don't be jealous though, as the forecast is crap all week

Worked and got a floating holiday back in lieu. Could have taken it off but chose to work because I've almost ran out of holiday already this year.
