Love stories like these, I remember I was watching a programme on the BBC a little while ago where they were digging up a Spitfire from a peat bog. Still had all the live ammo loaded into the guns and after a little clean up and oil they still fired.

I am very sorry that the pilot was unable to survive the awful conditions in the desert having managed a comparatively safe forced landing.

Was just reading this morning that they had been found and Cameron has actually managed to negotiate the release of them, meaning we can send a team of people to recover them, Apparently they're all in shipping crates, covered in a protective coating and wax paper, would be amazing to see these return, a whole fleet of near perfect spitfire.

^^^^^^ WOW!!! That is some story!

That would be fantastic to recover that many aircraft in one go.....

They reckon Its gonna cost £500k to recover 20 planes...... which are worth up to a million each.... hey you do the math
