Watch running fast usually means it seizing (lack of lubricant stops the intertia of the balance wheel moving its full rotation).

Or.

The hairspring has become magnetised.

Latter is an easy fix the former will mean the watch needs a "service and clean" which should include a inspection of any wear/damage.

As above if you have just bought it new it sounds faulty. Get another one instead.

All sorted now
i read a review of an automatic watch and it said it was running fast and to leave it on the face of the watch overnight, well i did and it worked
it's not gained a second at all since 10pm last night.
