Default So how much does an SP30 add.....

as ive just done a few checks on confused to get a vague idea for my insurance renewal 1st Feb

250quid Extra!

wtf?!

Using Elephant as a base line it went from 830 odd to 1093
and that doesnt include the prodrive susp and custom alloys :/

how can they justify that much of an increase for something they even put into a "common offences" list box!

for info, 2006 STI , about 9 years NCB with one SP30 from oct this year :/
and im 32 end of the month!

When I had my sp30 my insurance didnt alter as they said for the first 3 points it could happen to anyone however any more would increase the premium. Worth shopping around.

You may well find that renewals have just gone up in general and your SP30 does not have much effect.

A lot of people have been saying that their premium has gone up.

You may also find that the comparison website is just higher full stop, try ringing the company that gave lowest quote. Or try Keith Micheals.

It didn't add anything to my insurance just over 3 years ago. Made no difference at renewal time either and made no differences on comparison websites in the years since then.

I've always heard that everyone is expected to get 3 points so it shouldn't effect it. Do another quote without it and see no difference. My policy nothing has changed and YoY it's gone up by £85 with elephant. Next years I'm going back to my old way of phoning around...

i did it on confused and used elephant insurance as a base line, with and without the SP30, that was the difference :/
might just be confused being sh*t mind.....

im going to give the specialists etc a buzz nearer the time, i need to wait a few more weeks really before getting a quote for renewal on 1st Feb

im currently looking to renew with Keith Micheals after the rather good quote from Moley but i called Admiral today about cancelling my auto renewal, and they reckon an SP30 is worth an extra £108 ! taking the ****.....
the mods didnt seem to make any different oddly..

any how they knew they had no chance heh so cancelled the auto renew
even after giving me a discount of 80quid heh

Ive not been caught speeding in 7 years because Im awesome but when I was last caught (7years ago if you havent worked it out) I changed my car from a Renault 5 GTT to an Impreza and it actually went down about 100 notes, but I guess thats cause I took a step down in class of car

My missus was moaning about me putting her insurance up to £500 on the Galaxy due to my SP30, everyones went up, the irony is I pay it anyway !

I got a quote for an MX5, from a specialist, the lady was very knowledgeable she said it made zero difference.

You can save so much cash by driving to the speed limits though.

When you think about the way it all adds up, its just not worth getting caught speeding is it?

are you taking the ****?
do you think i wanted to be done for speeding?

it was 2 seconds of madness on a otherwise completely clean record, and for the record i am very good at adhering to speed limits especially in built up areas etc..........................
