There was some scheduled maintenance of the GT servers recently, didn't get caught out by that?

Sorry to take it OT a bit, I am thinking of getting a console for the kids (myself really ) and can't decide between the XBox 360 or the PS3. Anyone have experiences of both? I played GT5 Prologue a while back and thought it was pretty good, but recently went to a Currys and had a quick play on Forza 4 Motorsport and was really impressed with it. But I don't want to base my purchase on just one game. I already have a Wii which the kids love and I only play COD W@W and Black Ops multiplayer a fair bit. Generally games wise (quality of game play, not just graphics) and online gameplay, which is the better of the two?

Cheers

Im a ps3 diehard. Graphics are better..Online is free and seem's to have less bug's than Xbox live. (also a lot of back up features Eg: videozone,BBC iplayer,Full internet browser, easily accesible ps3 store etc)

Forza 4 is better than Gran turismo 5 (i have GT5) . . But that's just 1 game. .

Black op's and MW2 and MW3 are immense on the ps3 with a good hdtv, hdmi cable and speaker's.

Plus . .. The PS3 just look's sexier

What is the PS3 like as a bluray player? As good as a dedicated bluray player and does it fan make a lot of noise. My friend had the first gen PS3 and was noisy as hell! I'm hoping the PS3 slim will be near silent. I like the free online gaming aspect of the PS3, but I hear a PS3 suffers in game play and graphics as the games are generally ported over from the XBox. I know the PS3 exclusive games are top notch though.
