Default Struck off by my dentist.

Me and the eldest, both missed appointments, and both struck off within a week. No warning letter.

He wasn't up to much, tbh, my yearly check was "open wide, any problems? Ok then, next!"

But what do people do if they have probs if they aren't on a list?

Did you and your son send him a warning letter stating that you weren't going to attend the appointments?

Alternate Paracetemol and Ibuprofen every 4 hours.

Find a dentist that will take on more customers, have an initial check up at an exceptionally high rate, then have the work done.

Our trust has "Dental Access Centres" http://www.worcestershire.nhs.uk/cho...l/dentist.aspx

Luckily haven't had to resort to going to one yet (not registered).

Like GP's and hospitals, they get pretty fed up with missed appointments. Wastes an appointment time that someone else could have had.

They were suggesting charging people who missed hospital appointments at one time.

Fair enough if you notify that you cant attend though

If you already cancelled the appointments and they struck you off there must be someone you can complain to?

I'm getting the impression the appointments weren't cancelled but simply missed.

I agree it's a little harsh if no warning was given first.

was told by someone much smarter than me that paracetamol is an accumulative liver toxin and would have been banned decades ago if there wasn't so much money involved, do NOT take it at all ever especially if you like a drink more than occasionally, anyone sick of being lied to yet?

Jeff; me, Nat and Isaac are registered at the dental practise in Winterton, near Richtoy Motorsport. It's an NHS one and very good IMO mate. We registered in July when they opened up for new registrations. Worth a call at least?

Just rung them. Private only at the moment, BUT...........

An exam is £15...........that's what I paid for my dentist to take a cursory look, NHS

A filling is from £20. I was paying £49.

I think I'll go private, I'll probably get better care too.

Exactly the same thing happened to me too. Although if I'm honest, I think I forgot to go twice

I very rarely, as in once a year only because I had to, go to the dentist. I don't think I have been for over 6 years now.

Did try to get back in with a dentist a while ago but frankly got bored with the same "no NHS, private only" comment.

Still think that getting struck off is very harsh. So what if I missed a couple of appointments, it's not the end of the world. I was charged for not turning up anyway!

Our dentists charges £80 per missed appointment.

We've even almost been struck off for not actually going. The receptionist said that because we hadn't been for a while we may not still be on the books. I complained directly to the dentist (he walked in the room just at the same time) and he said we could remain.

He now only does Denplan patients so we've got some Portuguese woman.

Crikey, I don't think being struck off a Dentist's list warrants suicide.

Not going to stop me having a few next time I've got a bad cold / flu / man-flu.

I'm sure there's a lot of money to be made from paracetamol when you can pick up a pack of generics in Savers for 16p The only money to be made is from the fools who buy the branded versions.

No, but I always ring, apologise and offer to pay.

They have given no warning.

Seems they may have done me afavour, by the look of things. The dentist there was by far the wqorst I've ever had, I only stayed as ai thought it would be hard to get another.

First of all go in and say your polish you will be put straigh on.. B: Have you tried going as someone else?

Finally I hate the dentist why should you pay for a check up when you don't have to with a doctor..

Luckily for me the wifes benifits cover my teeth even for check ups so Im greatful there...
