Time to bash the Android users
Hmm Just days before the ""BIG unboxing event"" It would appear Google & Samsung have pulled the plug on the Nexus Prime / Ice cream sandwich event..
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_unpa...-news-3245.php
Have to say i'm dissapointed , with my contract ending in the next 2 months, i was looking forward to this, ... potentially my xmas pressy.
No definate reasons as to why the event was pulled, but i'm sure our Apple loving friends out there are primed and ready..
So give it your all. Lets have a bit of Android bashing to balance the score ..

Cant say i buy that one tbh, Its almost bad taste as opposed to respect.
Although if it is, then fair play to them... The only thing i could think of is either hardware failure, or they are upping the anti with the specs.... some earlier rumours lol suggest the chipset is not the exegeos (sp) one, or the camera is 5mp not the rumoured 8mp..
Or is it just hype to build expectations??

Not going to deny it, could well be they dropped the ball as well.
The G2 has a pretty impressive spec for an android phone... you would have logically thought that the flagship for the brand would have trounced that.
Mind you they launched the Google one after the Gs and even then the Gs had a better spec

"We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs's passing," the spokesperson said. "We do not have information on the rescheduling of the event."

I have no desire to bash Android platform. It looks a pretty decent platform and the Galaxy S II I had for a week was pleasant to use.
Personally, I prefer an iPhone/iPad but don't feel the need to snipe other systems unlike non Apple owners who seem almost obsessive with the task!
It won't be Steve Jobs related, most likely the product is being revised or simply not ready.

I have one of the first HTC Desire from launch and it was relatively fine until it was upgraded to 2.2, then it went horribly wrong. It really is a POS now and I'm just in the process of sending it back to HTC to see if it can be sorted.
Both my daughters have HTC Desire S and they are also so unimpressed with them they cant wait for their contracts to end.
I've not tried the Smasung Galaxy, but I'm wondering if a phone that does everything it claims, well, actually exists.

There are two angles to look at with Android, one is the hardware which varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
The other is the OS which subject to some carrier restrictions plays a significant part of the equation..
When the Galaxy was released with Froyo on Voda, there were rafts of complaints about the carrier loading screen... come the next update, this was acknowledged and dropped ... no voda logo when loading .. cant imagine apple doing that..
The phone in its as delivered state does have a few problems. Notably Lag, this is a known issue due to the way Samsung sets up the OS.
This is where the beauty of Android comes into play ... a new Rom flash later and lag is gone, then it transforms the phone.
The carrier's may not be happy / warranty etc, but the end user is.
Thats why i like Android, if you have a problem, or want a tweak, someone will do it.
My Gs is great, although i hardly use all of its capabilities, but thats my choice, which i like
