Welsh Miners trapped
I'm surprised noone has commented on this ( or have you and i have missed it?)

They are hoping the 4 missing miners have found air pockets, whilst they continue to try and pump out the flood waters.
I hope to god they are still alive, I cannot even begin to fathom what must be going through their heads. I know the Chilean miners last year were down there for days, but they had some contact, these guys dont

Hope they're ok.
I visited a mine a couple of years ago. It was quite scary when you thought about the 140m of rock above your head. Can't imagine what it must be like to be trapped somewhere like that.
For those that are interested, this is the place I visited.

Yes we stll have a few in Wales, though in the tiny mines in which they work conditions and safety don't always seem to be that good.
Two dead now as well. Very sad.

Oh no. Poor, poor men. And the families. My heart goes out to them. Apparently one of the dead men was only minutes from safety before he was overwhelmed by the tide of water.

I have to be brutally honest and l think your remarks are really objectionable to the point of being crass and in poor taste, ignore the mining link and just remember that 4 men have lost their lives.

All 4 dead.
My dads side of the family are Welsh, with mining backgrounds. I cannot even begin to imagine the heartbreak of these 4 deaths, not only to the families, but to the communities in which they live.
RIP.

There's a cry in the valleys, tears in the West,
Mourning the heroes that wear the pit vest,
Underground grafters always put in a shift,
Below the hillside in the deep dark drift,
They're not coming home to their children their wives...
The mine once again takes cherished lives

I also hate show all the politicians keep popping up on TV saying how they are helping out in the community and consolling the bereaved families. If it was my family and Peter Hain "popped in" I think I'd knock his feckin head off.

While I agree that the remarks were uncalled for I also find it stange how the press will go all out to cover such an event but if, say, a family get killed in a motorway crash it does not even warrant a mention.

And chose to ignore the stupid comment further up the page.
If a family crash and are already dead then there is no hope for them, but when four men are trapped and there is a chance of there survival then it will make the news.
I knew two of the miners and wish it never made the news. We didn't ask for any sympathy from anyone. The family just want to be left to grieve in peace.
Rip Dai Bull and Charlie. My thoughts are with you and your family at this horrible time.
Gone but never forgotten.

What I do find objectionable is that David Cameron has given some 'sound bites' for TV, I would have expected him to at least have sent his lackey Clegg to the area.
