Default Alton Towers parking

Is it all just 1 big car park or can you pay extra to be close to the entrance ?

The concert reviews I've read all slag off the parking arrangements - it seems to take 1-2 hours to clear the car park so it's got to be worth a few quid for the speedy get away

I'm going on Wednesday to see the the Black Eyed Peas - well, I'm only going to see one of them really

Isn't it a bloody cheek to charge for parking! Legoland is the same, I mean, it's not like I'm parking there and then not handing over a large wedge of cash anyway. The £2 parking charge is just squeezing the cash cow dry

If you think that's bad, try the Florida parks! Those Yanks certainly know how to generate cash!

We went to the alton towers live concert a few weekends ago.
The express car park was closed to make way for a drop off and pick up area so you couldn't pay extra for a quick getaway.
Had to park in the main car parking area, took around an hour to get out and we were one of the lucky ones!
We were there early in the morning so got a good spot near the front but still took an hour to get away, god knows how long it took those parked in the overflow fields to get out. Good luck!

Bugger ! that's my plan out of the window then - I'll just have to try to park as close to the eit as possible but no doubt they will be policing it pretty heavily

I parked as directed waited 5 mins then drove and parked right net to the exit barrier

It still took 40 mins to get out as the approach road was solid with crawling traffic. The rest of the car park was carnage - God only knows how long the poor sods at the back took to clear the place....

If you didn’t leave before the end of the concert you did well to get out within the hour.
I thought the same about those at the back in the fields – they could still be there now!!!
How were the peas anyway?

Left after the end - queued for the loos then made our way back - I was parked literally next to the exit barrier

The concert was excellent & I had 'Golden Circle' tickets so right at the front too
