How to sign up for an NHS dentist?
#3
The secret is to keep popping in to the dentist and asking if they're taking on patients. I was lucky getting an appointment within a fortnight, a clean bill of health and a recommendation that another checkup wasn't necessary for a year.
Here I am smiling about it afterwards

Contact your local primary care trust who will inform you when one becomes available. Then it depends how good they are. I think the really good NHS dentists always take on the relatives of people already on the books so spaces never come up. I'm with a new local NHS practice, all foreign dentists and the check up lasts 5 minutes max. My old NHS dentist who retired, 15 minutes for a check up. I'm not very happy about it.
