Pretentiousness...serving food on a spoon
Can't even spell it
Yes,I probably am ignorant about food and service thereof but being pretentious seems to be the reserve of the restuarants. As is the attitude of you are lucky we are serving you
Think the best one is when they serve you the food taster on a spoon and everyone ooh's and aah's
Anyone experienced extreme pretentiousness whilst out for a nice meal?

Perhaps one for PSL, i understand the catering staff and the Dun Roamin retirement home regularly blend his food and serve it to him on a spoon.
In his case i understand they call it Dementia and not pretentiousness...

How else will they make you taste their food? Cheese can be tasted on a cocktail stick, but one will need a spoon to taste semi-solid food, I'd think? I may be wrong, though.
On pretence, Some pretentious places do those purposeless silver plated engraved dome things. They do it in period hotels like Ruthin Castle types. A false but polite smart@rse brings your food on a tray held well above his shoulder. His gloves and clothes are so ridiculous that even Michael Jackson would run a mile from him! Anyway, he comes over, and lowers his arm to bring that stupid dome to your level. You grow your hope to find a well-roasted mega quacker inside that huge thing! But when the smart@rse takes off the dome, all you discover is a tiny, pathetic wing of a f**king duck. Very pretentious indeed.
