Can't help feeling its a missed opportunity not to replace the Shuttle.

Be nice if the western world debt could be written off and the payments made for space exploration. The moon could be the next Australia

$200-300million per month to run the US space program.

Fookin' hell.

That was fookin amazing. Sorry, but there's a reason why economics are available to those that can do it..... I fully support the Space Program. We should be doing more of this.
B@lls to the money.

Still the most amazing sight. "Discovery now 7m 15s into flight, speed is 12,700mph"

One minute later its 14,600mph.

Love it.

I absolutely agree -we need to go even further afield.

I was just amazed at how much it actually cost, so I can see why they're cutting it back for the foreseeable.

I remember the first Discovery flight, watched it at skule -what, 30 years ago?

Just thinking the same thing - I feel SO fortunate that I was a kid in the 80s. What a great time to be a kid eh?
80's - birth of orbital space flight, computers - all those launches.

All came flooding back.

Truly spell-bound watching that. Lot of money - but we've p1ssed more on world-wide bankers bonuses...... granted, not per month but a much more worthwhile investment.

The Western Hemisphere just seems to get "it" wrong <facepalm>

I've SKY+ it so I can show my 5 year old lad tomorrow what his LEGO Shuttle does in real life.
It's a shame his ilk may never see this sort of thing again.

Thats the big risk with a reusable unit though.
Fantastic idea however.

One of my customers makes an adhesive tape which they sell to NASA to stick panels panels onto the shuttles with.
1 million pounds per roll

I remember the MOON landings being shown on the school TV when I started at Primary school. Live pictures from the Moon..... wow.
