Fuel Blockade

Not sure how true this is but maybe the attention it gets might get the media onto it and worry the government a little

So, because of the populous behaving civilised, we're gradually having our civil liberties, and general quality of life, eroded... Because the govt can 'get away' with doing so.
How's that 'fair'?! <rant, mumble, groan, etc, etc>
The (not so)Great British Public are a govt's dream, in this respect.

Totally.
But this is it. You would have thought the govt would 'respect' and 'reward' their public for not being a baying mob and wanting to overthrow them at any opportunity. But they know we're all a bunch of simpering Ruperts (ultimately) and therefore screw us royally. As they know there'll be no 'whirlwind' to be reaped! AAAAAAAAAAAARHH!

If you have 53 people and the local papers involved with a fuel blockade it won't take much for it to go national.
53 arrested under terrorist laws
That would make a fine headline for any of the nationals. You get a criminal record - you go to an interview and are asked about your record - you were arrested for an act of terrorism for protesting against the cost of fuel. I would think a boss that holds that against you probably isn't the sort of boss you want to work for anyway.

The introduced the legislation, following the successful blockading of the refinery's, by tanker drivers and protesters.
(remember this was the government who advocated peaceful protest )
once the refinery's were blocked, and they realised that by peaceful protest, the populous had achieved a victory, they then did the baby milk factory type spiel (do a google search for baby milk factory's in the gulf war )
And decided it was then outlawed to block refinery's ( as hospitals could be effected).

I was thinking that - Rape a drunk girl - first offence, let off with a warning. Steal a car.... group hug. Armed robbery... at least 20 hours community service. Protest against the govt - at least 20 years as long as you didn't commit a crime while you were doing it
