Pets tonight
I've just fed the dogs & stuck them in there beds with a very loud ipod dock. Tonight will be nightmare for them.
Last year i was out in the sticks & they didnt really hear it apart from the odd few but i've moved to house with a few others around & one of those "estates" a couple of miles away so they're already hearing the loud bangs & barking.

my dog never used to be bothered. This year we went camping on a proper campsite, and the farmer in the next field decided to shoot some pigeon (for 3 fking days!!!!!) he was no more than 100m from the nearest tent, this causing a lot of anger and anxiety from our group due to the noise, and the sound of shot flying overhead, this culminated in shot hitting one of our tents, the farmer being almost lynched, and the police getting involved............since then our dog has shat hershelf whenever she hears loud bangs, and is really bad this year, pacing around, panting, and panicky when a loud one goes off......, don't know if it was the anxiety feelings of the group she associates with the noise, well it must be really.

We took ours out early for his walk. Just a few bangs and sparks in the sky, but he was still on edge.
He is now on his bed, with the telly on quite loud.

Dog used to get tranquilisers from the vet and then put in to the pitch black cupboard under the stairs as it was super quiet. He'd get himself so worked up he'd wee himself and be sick with nerves, the tranqs + dark cupboard saw him ok.
My boy kitten is a bit on edge with them, but this is the first time he's seen or heard them really but seems to be ok, clinging to my side on the sofa though.
Oh, I should add the cupboard under the stairs was really big, we're not cruel!

We've got an ex gun-dog that runs around in the back garden listening to the bangs and looking for the game dropping
One of our cats sits on the conservatory roof watching a combination of the dog and the light show
The other cat digs it's way into our bed, and hides for the night under MrsD's pillows
