Ah, sorry. I see now.

No, Ted could never get on SN - his paws were too big for the keyboard - kept on hitting 'esc' all the time.

Are you sure Pete, you could have said your GSD was 20 1/2 for the sake of this thread? Similar vintage to your mobile phone

Our dog chummy was 19 when we had to put him down. He survived being bit by an adder and being git by a car but unfortunately succumbed to arthritis.

Had a border collie that was age 15 - had to have him put down in the end
Took him out for a walk one night and he ran as normal to jump over something and just collapsed - couldn't get up and just looked at me with the saddest looking eyes
Took him to the vet, he said most likely a heart attack.
Happened twice more that night, back to VET again who confirmed an attack in the surgery and suggested that the kindest thing to do was put him to sleep.

I stayed with him the whole time even during the injection and thankfully noone was around because I gurned like a child afterwards.
Had him from he was 3 months old.

My blue staff Charlie is now 10! Gotta say she still runs around like a puppy but she looked at me the otherday and for the 1st time ever i realised she starting to look old!!
Shes also gradually getting more and more grey/brown as she ages, but from the posts on here im hoping out for a good few more years in the family with us yet!

Urban i have to admit tho, when the day comes i too am gonna bawl my little heart out i am sure!!!ha ha

Our Dog Kobe bless him was born in 94 he is a collie cross with?
recently had a small bleed on the brain left him with partial loss of feeling in both back legs but that aint going to stop him, strong as an ox and still tells us when he wants his dinner, when he was 2 he learned to open doors still does it today but only the patio door so basically lets him self out for a tinkle could never get him to close the door though.

Good to see all those pictures.

We still miss our black cat Floyd who died at 22 years old.

Still Fearless Freddie is a real character and we hope he will last as long as Floyd did.

Yea he is a big fella!! 29" when he was at his peak.

His dad was even bigger and jet black..when we bought Jackson as a pup he just had 4 tiny tan socks and he was jet black.

The tan bits came on over the next couple of years..

Grey bits are predominent now

Ours is totally black, apart from a tiny little streak of white on his chest.
Your boy still looks grogeous, even with his grey whiskers
