3DTV dilemma

3DTV dilemma
Second thread of the day!
The TV in the kids room has given up the ghost on it's HD connection. Scart is working ok so perfectly watchable, just nice to have the glorious HD feed.
So, I can either get another 32" TV, circa £350 to replace it, or wait and put that towards an LED 3D TV (£1k? eek) for the Lounge and give the kids the Panny I have at present.
Obviously 3D TV will come down in price, does anyone know any inside info as to what technology is coming along that may push it down, in which case I'll wait and use the Scart connection for the time being. is it a must have or crap?

Mum's just two weeks ago bought the Samsung PS50C680 50" plasma 3D HDtv that Currys had on offer with 3D BluRay player + 3sets of 3d Glasses and 3Dbluray of MostersvAlians all for £999
It's not on offer now, but is still £999

i must say, its brill, yep, 3D might be a bit of a gimmic, but when you watch Sky sports, Golf or tennis in 3d it feels like you're there.
watching the 3D DVd that came with it is very clear.
I was a bit sceptical about the Plasma, but now I've seen hers i want one
she also got (from superFi) the Onkyo308 amp with the Canton 60cx cinema 5.1 speakers.
the whole lot is very good for the money.
