I don't do it anymore due to time and other commitments, but I was a big fan of the North and AirRush kit. Had a 9m North Vegas, 12m AirRush and 18m Naish.

I used an AirRush board and can say that I don't miss monitoring the wind, tides and direction! Also the sub-zero water temperatures and getting into a damp wet suit!!

Depending on when you stopped, I think you will be surprised with some of the technical innovations and the massive price tag for some of the new stuff lol

Looks like real fun to me, wish I could do it.

as a pretty long time windsurfer, a few of my windsurfing friends (although not all) have taken up kitesurfing

and the kit has got much better -- the kites really do water relaunch now, and are generally much more stable -- not to much "stall of death" anymore -- complete with that gut renching feeling of "fvck"

I went on a weeks Kitesurf clinic (with a few mates) in Egypt earlier on in the year -- and in a week you can get to a standard that would take two seasons in the UK

still prefer boarding tbh

on balance the only water sport where you have good chance of getting run over by a car

In don't doubt it, I like watching them down here on a windy day. Pity I can't have a go.
