World Cup Internet Streaming
If a friend of mine wanted to watch the world cup in the office what would be the best way?
BBC iplayer?
ITV equivalent?
Some other site?

He would need to find out how tight his company firewall is with internet access. Video streaming takes up large amounts of bandwidth which is why a lot of companies will stream to one specific pc/screen to stop staff all trying to do it from their desks and killing the network.
If it's a small company he may get access but majority of large companies will have any video streaming sites blocked for obvious reasons.
But as far as live streaming I use http://www.tvcatchup.com/

Then his only concern will be to find one that offers enough bandwidth for the sheer number of people who will be trying to watch over the web.
To be honest i'm not so sure of any that will cope. I've tried a few sites just for Premiership games and they are woeful at best of times so the World Cup will be impossible to watch unless these sites pay out for huge amounts of bandwidth. Of course they will also cut down the quality to reduce on bandwidth so then you end up watching a grainy picture which still ends up caching every few minutes or dropping out.
As the IT partner just get a TV installed and don't leave the office!

Ive got two projectors running wallboards in my office and was looking at options and tvactchup I found wasnt great quality at that size tbh. All the matches will be shown on either BBC or ITV so iPlayer and ITV player are fine. Imho if Ive got it up on the big screen = one stream instead of everyone streaming to their own pc's. At least thats how I sold it to my boss

Watched some live stuff on bbc and it was good quality and played fine, never streamed on ITV so I am not sure if it will be watchable but I hope so as a few people are coming round to mine to watch the football on the projector. I don't get any TV reception downstairs so if it is not online I am screwed.

OK - I am in Mallorca and can only get German TV!!! Any clues as to how I can get either English TV or at least an English commentary over the net?
I have broadband access and things like tvcatchup do not work as they recognise I am outside the UK.
Any help in the next 15 minutes would be good!
