i actually have done some work for a very nice american chap and we got talking one day, he told me that they even say it out there that there is no average american, they are either clever or stupid. i think i know where she falls.

Here's a belter for you...
A "septic" is driving along in his new motorhome, and needs a leak. So he engages the cruise control and nips in the back....
After crashing he successfully sues the manufacturers because ?
They hadn't informed him by means of stickers or the instruction manual that he shouldn't.

I know Americans are crazy and sue for stupid things BUT...........surely this is an easy win for google? They advised her to use that route but SHE made the decision to follow that advice. No one forced her to and if she thought the route was unsafe she should not have taken it.
