Only saw the very last bit, but I do respect him for what he has achieved in the job.

Les,

I can gree he achieved a lot especially as it was a lot harder in his day to get anywhere but he should have retired about 20 years as his performances have become pitiful.

I can also speak from personal experience and state that off screen/stage he is a pig ignorant arrogant man.

Agreed - he is a product of the 60s/70s and should be put out to grass and may be wheeled out for the oldies at Xmas.

TBH he never did turn me on but I have no idea about his off screen persona.

I thought some of the put-downs were brilliant. Don't care for the old codger, but I have lots of memories of his work through my childhood. I thought Jimmy Carr was brilliant, as always.

Mrs Chip met Ronnie Corbett many years ago and would agree he is an absolute gentleman.

Yes in all honesty I agree with you and David Lock. No idea about his personal character of course but it is long gone time that he should have accepted giving the job up.

Was definitely cringe worthy! Last night's with Sharon Osbourne was too, but I thought it was slightly funnier. She was looking hot though! Although I realise it probably wouldn't be the same story with her kit off!
